Waffle Wednesday

07 Jun

Summer is here.

There are the most obvious signs – it’s much louder around here than normal and I’m making trips to the grocery store every other day.

Usually there is the hot weather – but that isn’t cooperating.  So, it kinda feels like an extended spring break.

But, the best way to tell that it’s summer is because I have NO IDEA what day of the week it is, let alone the DATE!  Honestly, it could as easily be the 16th or the 26th, as the 6th of June.

The ONLY way for me to keep track of the day of the week is by following the breakfast pattern.  During the school year, we have a set routine.

Monday – Pancakes

Tuesday – You’re on your own – Mom has coffee group

Waffle Wednesday

Thursday – cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs

French Toast Friday

Saturday – this is the only day that changes

Sunday – sausage with biscuits and gravy

As long as I keep to this morning routine, I’ll be able to keep track of what day it is.

Here’s what I’ve learned:  Today was Wednesday.  We had waffles.

We usually make a double batch on Wednesday mornings. That way we can have some left-overs for snacking over the next couple of days! gotta love them with fresh cut fruit and powdered sugar on top!
